Round mirrors with lights

A round mirror is the quickest way to break up a bathroom made of straight lines. Tiles, a rectangular basin and a straight vanity unit all pull the eye along horizontals – a circle interrupts them, and with the light running around the whole circumference the face is lit from every side at once.

What diameter above a basin?

The rule of thumb is that the mirror should be 70–90% of the width of the vanity unit below it. On a 60 cm unit that means a 42–54 cm mirror; on an 80 cm unit, 56–72 cm. Going wider than the unit makes the mirror look bolted on; going much narrower makes the wall look empty. Hang it so the centre sits at eye level for the people who use it most.

Round, and lit

The LED strip sits behind the glass and shines through a sandblasted band, so what you see is a soft ring of light rather than a visible bulb. Choose neutral or cool white if you do your make-up here, and warm white (3000 K) if the bathroom is mostly for evenings. The Dual version switches between them.

Round bathroom mirrors without lights

If the bathroom already has good lighting, an unlit round mirror may be all you need. You’ll find diameters from 40 to 150 cm under round mirrors, and unlit models under mirrors without lights. You choose the exact size on mirrors without lights: set the dimensions to the millimetre in the configurator, up to 200 × 200 cm, with round mirrors from 13 to 150 cm across. Steam, and how to deal with it

Any mirror in a bathroom will mist over after a hot shower. The demister pad is a heated pad behind the glass that keeps the surface above the dew point, so the mirror stays clear; the middle clears first and the whole glass follows. It is an optional extra, switched on separately, and there is no timer – you turn it off yourself. We make each mirror ourselves and send it out within 4 working days.

Spread the weight across several fixings. Mirrors with lights come with a mounting kit in the box; for mirrors without lights you order hangers, mirror adhesive or mounting tape as an accessory. In plasterboard, use fixings rated for the weight, and on tiles drill with a tile bit.

Our LED mirrors are IP44 rated depending on the version. A mains-powered mirror in a bathroom should still be connected by a qualified electrician, who will check that the position suits the bathroom zone it sits in. We don't fit shaver sockets, and we don't make battery-powered mirrors.
