Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a mirror with and without lights?
Only the lighting. An unlit mirror has no LED, no transformer and no cable, so it needs no electrician and can hang anywhere. Everything else – the glass, the shapes, the sizes and the edge finishes – is the same.
How do I hang a mirror without lights?
With clips or hangers that grip the edge, or with mirror adhesive backed up by mechanical fixings. There is no frame to screw through, so the weight is carried by the wall fixings – in plasterboard, use fixings rated for the load.
What is the difference between a polished and a bevelled edge?
A polished edge is ground flat and buffed clear – plain and modern. A bevelled edge is ground at an angle so it catches the light along the border, which reads as more traditional.
Is a frameless mirror safe without a frame?
Yes. The edge is ground and polished so it isn't sharp, and the fixings spread the weight across several points. Safety backing film is available as an option, and a slim aluminium frame is there if you would rather have a border.
Can I have a frameless mirror in the bathroom?
Yes. Every edge is ground and polished, so there is no raw edge for moisture to get into, and the glass is made for damp rooms. If it steams up, choose an LED version with a demister pad.
What is the largest mirror you make without lights?
Rectangles up to 200 × 200 cm and circles up to 150 cm across. For anything larger, get in touch with your measurements.
